“Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale” Hans Christian Andersen
For me I am not sure where my love of words began. They have always been a part of me and I truly hope they continue to be a huge part of my life.
I nervously pressed publish on Sally’s Lifestyle Journal in December 2014, and so began this platform for me to share with you my stories, my adventures and my experiences as I make my way through life.
So who am I? I am Sally, a 20-something coffee addict who wants to take inspiration from my favourite novels and films and step outside into this beautiful world and experience everything it has to offer.
I have a few loves in life and you will find them all in the words of my posts.
I fell in love with travel in 2009 when I hopped on my first ever flight to Fiji. This trip challenged my understanding of tourist vs traveller and opened my eyes to the world, something a small town girl like me had only ever dreamed of.
I love to write about travel, both at home in Australia, as well as from an always growing list of destinations around the world including America, Italy, France and New Zealand. I find it very easy to fall in love with new places but one of my favourites will always remain New York City.
2009 was a big one, as that same year my now husband and I made the big move from country New South Wales to Queensland where Brisbane has become our adopted home. We have come to love the relaxed city vibes and enjoy weekends spent exploring some of the most amazing places just down the road. I really do feel lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world!
And for those days when real adventure is just a little too much there is nothing like a powerful piece of literature or a very well made movie to get you through, and sometimes I just can’t help but share!
Rounding out my life is a love of food. I love trying new foods when travelling, I enjoy finding new restaurants and most of all I love baking. I really believe there isn’t a problem a good cupcake cannot fix!
So that’s me! If you have any suggestions on what I should write about next or just want to say ‘hey’ go ahead and email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
